I had a very sweet evening last Sunday, at the Bridge & Enrich Lives Society. I was invited to share some kirtan with the lovely people there, and to join in the incredible energy of the Beyond Addiction course. I could tell that the people in the course are really giving it their all. There was a tangible feeling of sweetness and authenticity in the room, and everyone was very loving and kind. I am very grateful to have been invited, and look forward to singing there again next month :)
The evening chanting will be open to all, even those not in the beyond addiction program.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Hari Simran has been found. He appears to have fallen while hiking and sustained a fatal injury to the head. We believe he passed instantly and did not suffer. His family and friends are making the proper arrangements in Mexico. There will be a memorial vigil tonight in Virginia. Please send your love to his family, friends and our entire community and pray with his family tonight. Thank you to everyone – the local and national governments of Mexico, the United States Embassy, the Red Cross, all the volunteers, the media, and all of you for helping us #findharisimran. This journey has been a testament to the enormous amount of love and goodness he shared with us all during his time on earth. His last picture said ‘Looking down on you.’ We know he is an angel in the heavens now looking down on all of us.

We love you, Hari Simran

Lorena MC KenzieWithout coming without leaving .... This body is not me, I am not limited by this body. I am life without limits, I was never born and never will die. Look at the vast ocean and the vast sky and above, Sparkling with thousands of stars; everything is none other than the wonderful manifestation of my true spirit. Since always, i am free. Birth and death are only the input and output ports, and a hide and seek game. So take my hand and both laugh because this is only a goodbye and we shall meet again. We keep us today and tomorrow. We will meet our source, And every moment thousands of paths of life. all my love for you all.3 weeks ago   ·  10

This has been floating around FB for a while, but it is just so beautiful and profound I had to post it just in case any of you haven't seen it yet. If every person on the planet could at least even understand this way of thinking, and be aware of it, our world would be changed. ... See MoreSee Less

Elke Shivshakti RantsRemind Yourself If you know a little of yourself, you will have realised that you are more than meets your eyes in the mirror in the morning. What you see is not what you are. You see the form not the content, the body not the soul, the matter not the mind. In quiet and profound moments, we innately know that is true. But we forget. The world tells us and wants us to believe that we are what we see - and we take the easy way out. We believe. That's why the awakening of spirit and the flowering of our spirituality (nothing to do with religion) means we have to keep reminding ourselves, a hundred times a day, I am a soul - not a body, I am an eternal spirit. I am quality, not quantity. I am. Otherwise, freedom is not possible. And if we are not free, in the deepest space inside our own being, we cannot be truly happy.1 month ago

This afternoon, I had a very sweet experience with my family that felt like a culmination of my most recent tour, and a tribute to the love and effort put forward by each person who was present at the events.
All of the events on the tour were very special, and I enjoyed each of them equally, and differently. One thing that made the Chicago event special in particular though, is that after we did the meditation to "Heal a Broken Heart" in the workshop, each person wrote something down on a piece of paper. After listening deeply during the meditation, to their heart, and their own connection with the divine, they wrote down how, after some poignant experience of heartbreak in their life, their heart broke OPEN. How, in looking back, the experience changed them, allowing them to grow into a more full expression of who they are.
Pain is a powerful teacher in our life. Sometimes it seems like there is no way through, and like it will never end. But the truth in those moments is that the divine is orchestrating the most perfect situation! There is ALWAYS a way through, and the pain is usually the very thing that is pushing us to allow our hearts to grow. We have to break, in a sense, a part of us must die, in order for a new part to be born. It is the hands of the divine at work. What we need to develop as conscious people in this time, through our practice, sensitivity, and discipline, is our ability to listen deeply. To hear the voice deep within, whispering the Truth, clearly and lovingly, through the veil of our own doubt and fear. We must follow it. The desire to end the pain is what gives us the fuel we need to follow our own hidden path, as it is revealed... one step at a time. Amazingly, the intensity of the pain ends up giving way to the intensity of the love and joy we find, as we listen, and our hearts grow.
We must learn to surrender to this process, and let go. Let go, again, and again, and trust the hands of the divine at work. There lies the truest opening, the bliss of complete trust and joy in living in Truth in our world.
Upon reaching home, as promised, I had a little ceremony in my home to burn those pieces of paper on which people wrote about what they became through the process of their heart being broken open in their life. My son, Gobind Singh, helped me burn them as we chanted the healing mantra "Ra Ma Da Sa, Sa Say So Hung". Upon finishing the burning, he spontaneously wept, tuning in to the powerful release of so many hearts. It brought tears to my eyes, and inspiration to my soul. What a lesson and a joy.

Here are some pictures from the event in Chicago, and also from the paper burning ceremony at home with my family.
My dog Baalu was there enjoying also ;)

Wow, what a wonderful tour in the Northeast I had with Matthew Schoening - Solo Electric Cello. Thank you so much, Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health, Auburn Public Theater, Spirit Rising Foundation, Karma Yoga - Bloomfield Hills, Mi, and PranaShanti Yoga Centre!
I'm a bit late in posting, but I wanted to share anyway! Each concert and workshop was beautiful in a different way, and I so loved meeting and connecting with so many kind and lovely people :)
Kundalini Rising was truly fantastic!! I hope to make it an annual event, and would so love to see you all there in the future! Teaching with Jai-Jagdeesh and Ajeet Kaur felt so natural, and was SUCH fun. The three musicians, Matthew, Todd Boston Music, and Tripp Dudley, were beyond what I even expected. They supported the three of us perfectly, with such love, playing live music in the yoga classes, and in the concert. I left feeling rejuvenated and so joyful, I'm already excited to share the experience with you next year!
Here are a few pictures from Kundalini Rising with the whole crew, including our amazing producer, Denise Barack. (9 photos)
